Email Address (Opt-In Only): When you use the "Email Results" feature, you may choose to allow us to save your email address for troubleshooting purposes. This is entirely optional—you must check the consent checkbox for your email to be captured.
If you opt in, we collect only:
- Your email address
- The tax year you were calculating
- A timestamp of when you used the feature
- Your browser type (for compatibility troubleshooting only)
How to Opt In
When using the "Email Results" feature in the Tax Calculator:
- Enter your email address
- Check the box that says "Allow us to save my email address for troubleshooting purposes"
- Click "Send Report"
If you do not check the consent box, your email will not be stored on our servers.
How to Opt Out
If you previously opted in and wish to have your email removed from our records, you have two options:
Option 1: Self-Service Opt-Out
- Go to the Tax Calculator at tax-calculator.adjunct.website
- Click "📧 Email Results"
- Enter the same email address you previously used
- Check the box that says "I previously opted in and want to opt out"
- Click "Send Report"
Your email will be immediately anonymized to a format like user-opted-out-0001@yourdomain.com, preserving only the domain for our records while removing your actual email address.
Option 2: Contact Us
Email us at feedback@adjunct.website with the subject "Privacy: Opt-Out Request" and include the email address you want removed. We will process your request within 48 hours.
How We Use Your Information
If you opt in to email capture, we use your email address solely for:
- Troubleshooting: To diagnose and fix technical issues if you report a problem
- Service Improvement: To understand usage patterns (e.g., which tax years are most popular)
We do not:
- Send marketing emails
- Sell, rent, or share your email with third parties
- Link your email to any financial or personal data
Data Retention
